The structure

La Cuccumella is located in thegeothermal area of the metalliferous hill. This area is rich in hot thermalsprings: the nearest one is the little Calidario lake (8 km), with an even temperature water of 36°C, where you can spend your days or evenings. You will also find a Thermarium with sauna, Turkish bath, aromatized cold showers, colour therapy, and Jacuzzi. It’s open all day, all year round.

You will find thermal bath also in Petriolo, Saturnia and in other minor localities with free entrance.

La Cuccumella, at foot of the small medieval town of Campiglia Marittima, bordering on the Natural Park of Montioni and about 7 km from the Gulf of Follonica, in front of Elba. His wonderful position makes La Cuccumella a perfect place to start discovering the heart ofMaremma and Etrurian Coast.

The rooms

La Cuccumella offers 10 spacious apartments to its guest. Six two-roomed flats (50 sq.m) located on the 1° and 2° floor, composed of double room with extra bed available, living room with kitchenette and sofa bed. On the 1° floor there are 2 two-room flats with the same facilities but with private entrance located on a covered terrace (25 sq.m) accessed via an outside staircase.

We have 2 three-roomed flats (70 sq.m) for 4 or 6 people with private independent entrance from the garden. Each apartment is composed of 2 double room, a spacious living room with kitchenette and sofa bed and 2 bathroom of which one provided with disable facilities.

La Cuccumella is a small family-run holiday centre. We do our best to make our guest feel at home by creating a pleasant and friendly atmosphere.

We organize guided walking and bike tours (and riding tours as well) of the most famous town of Tuscany and the Archipelago discovering the characteristic Maremma. Breakfast or half board accommodation available on request. For anyone who might be interested, we offer biological products from our company “Isola di Silvia” and from other local company.

On request we can organize small parties and tasting of products or rent the entire structure to small group of people (max 50 pax.).

By Car

From the North:

Highway A12 Genova-Rosignano: Direction sud (Livorno-Rosignano)

Exit ROSIGNANO: drive along the freeway Livorno-Grosseto for about 50 km following the sign for GROSSETO and take the exit for VENTURINA.

Exit VENTURINA: follow the sign for Venturina–Suvereto until you reach Vecchia Aurelia (SP 39).Turn right and go on for 3 km following the sign for Follonica. At km 142.200 turn left on the SP 22 (Via di Casalappi). Go straight on for 4 km and you will find “La Cuccumella” on your left.

From the South:

Leave the freeway GROSSETO-LIVORNO at the exit VIGNALE- RIOTORTO;

Turn left and follow the sign for Riotorto until you reach a roundabout. Turn left for Livorno. Stay on for about 1.6 km until you reach a boundary stating “Km 239”. Turn right for Casalappi and go straight on for 1.5 km. At the junction go straight on and after 1.5 km (left bend) you will find “La Cuccumella” (entrance on right side).

By train

The nearest railway stations are Campiglia Marittima (10 km) and Follonica (15 km).
